2nd Annual Silvio Cella Family Foundation Golf Tournament

It was a hot summer day when the Silvio Cella Family Foundation kicked off the 2nd Annual Golf Tournament at Ferncroft Country Club on August 1.

A great crowd of golfers and supporters turned out to pay tribute to Coach Cella and support high school football inMassachusetts. Thanks to our very generous sponsors, donors and participants, the Foundation raised over $20,000 that will fund grants to high school football programs throughoutMassachusetts.

Following the Tournament, golfers and guests enjoyed cocktails and a BBQ under the Ferncroft tent overlooking the 18th hole. Following a day on the golf course, N.E. Patriots great Pete Brockserved as Master of Ceremonies. Pete is president of the N.E. Patriots Alumni (www.patriots.com/alumni), which shares the Foundation’s mission to support high school football inMassachusetts. Pete talked about the impact a high school football coach can have on his players and his community. He and Emily are great friends of the Silvio Cella Family Foundation and we thank them for their support. In two years, thanks to the incredible generosity of so many, the Foundation has raised well over $40,000. In 2012, the Silvio Cella Family Foundation will increase the number of grants given to high school football programs, to help more teams, players and coaches be successful on the gridiron and help prepare young men for college, careers and family.
