4th Annual Silvio Cella Family Foundation
Golf Tournament
July 22, 2013  ~  Ferncroft Country Club

We hope you enjoyed the 4th Annual Silvio Cella Family Foundation Golf Tournament at Ferncroft Country Club. Thank you for making this year’s tournament a great success!

During this year’s tournament, we raised over $20,000 which will fund the Foundation’s annual grant program, helping give high school football teams throughout Massachusetts the tools needed to be successful on the gridiron and prepare young men for college, careers and family. Since 2010, we have given nearly $40,000 to 12 high schools throughout the state — from Framingham to Randolph, Revere to Millis, Ware to Fitchburg to Pioneer Valley Regional, Northeast Metro Tech, Blackstone-Millville Regional, Jeremiah Burke High in Dorchester and Smith Vocational High in Northampton. Thanks to your great generosity, the Silvio Cella Family Foundation has purchased new equipment, including new shoulder pads, helmets and uniforms, helped to renovate locker rooms, and funded transportation for players who commute 20 miles each way just to get to practice.

It was a day of great golf, with some healthy competition on the course. Here are the winners from the 4th Annual Silvio Cella Family Foundation Golf Tournament:

During the dinner, Master of Ceremonies, Pete Brock, N.E. Patriots great and president of the N.E. Patriots Alumni, brought home the message about the value of high school football and the impact a dynamic and dedicated high school football coach can have on his players and his community.  Our special guest, Jim DelGazio, Coach Cella’s QB at Revere High who went on to the NFL to play for the undefeated SuperBowl champion Miami Dolphins, talked about what he learned playing for Coach Cella.

Since 2010, the Silvio Cella Family Foundation has given nearly $40,000 to a dozen Massachusetts high school football programs. Funding has been used to purchase needed equipment, uniforms and helmets, renovate locker rooms and increase player safety and participation.

The Silvio Cella Family Foundation carries on Coach Cella’s legacy, helping give high school football programs the tools needed to be successful on the gridiron and, more importantly, to prepare young men for college, careers and life ahead.

We thank you for your support and look forward to seeing you at the 5th Annual Silvio Cella Family Foundation Golf Tournament next year!
